the weekend that was...
Food, Scrabble and CRANIUM!!
saturday was spent hanging out at home with friends, food and lots of laughter. although not all people came.. it was still spent with great friends. we had some filipino food (courtesy of tito rads... thank God for a filipino restaurant that is so close to our place!) and as requested.. the chocolate cake courtesy of marichu! :)
we did our usual scrabble... which we only did a round of.. played a little wii... and ended the night with cranium! it was a battle of the genders! and of course, as predicted, the women prevailed! :) i gotta give credit to the guys though.. the put up a good fight! :)
thanks marichu for introducing cranium.. another board game to be added on my list!! thanks michelle for coming!! :) i am really glad that you were able to make it, eventhough you have to travel all the way from the bronx.. i know it wasn't easy. thank you so much! cary!! thank you for sparing us with your time. :) to those who came for whatever reason... whatever. hehehe

Philippine Independence Day Parade!
after seven years of being here in new york, i was finally able to witness the Philippine Independence Day parade. although, i wasn't able to catch the parade itself, it was still nice being on the fair. went with horacio... who at first said no to it and at the last minute, finally gave in. (thank you spazzie!!). you really know you were in a filipino function since -- food, money sending places, food, booths for nurses, and did i mention food??
i was quite disappointed though, since there wasn't much booths to buy stuff. i think it would have been nicer to have those philippine products around. plus, the stuff they sell (even the food) are really expensive. it didn't stop me from buying a shirt and a beaded necklace with the flag on it. it was jsut really for the fun of it. i tried to get a good bargain, but they woouldn't budge. the designs on the shirts are really cool though. i wish they had more small sizes... don't they realize they need more smaller sizes since they are catering to fillipinos?? if you want, you can check out their shirts here and here.
it was a fun day until it started raining... i was exhausted as soon as we got home... thanks spazzou for coming out to the parade with me. although people were still mistaking me to be a non-filipino... it was still fun. :)
